いかがお過ごしでしょうか。
早いもので母・佳子が旅立ってから5年が経とうとしています。
この度、郡上八幡の町づくりで活躍されるアート建築家の藤沢百合さんよりお声がけ頂き、母の生まれ育った地で作品展を開催する運びとなりました。伯父・陽介も娘の私も「思いもよらなかった」ことで、感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。
東京、長野、京都に続く、凱旋展とも呼べる本展を「宗廣佳子の仕事展」と名づけました。仕事とは、かたちとして残る作品だけではないことの実感を深めるこの頃です。今回二つ返事でご協力下さったご縁の深いつくり手の方々と母の作品が並ぶ空間で、そのことに触れて頂けましたら幸いです。
会場は、建物につまったくらしの記憶を、緩やかなにしなやかに現代につなぐ百合さんの仕事「Private stay 水ノ理」です。
郡上八幡に育まれた祖父・力三が神奈川県の足柄山に移転してからの作品やその横顔、初音の工房を受け継ぎ、美しいものを求め続けた伯父・陽介の世界もご覧頂きます。娘である吉澤朋が立ち上げた日本の工芸つくり手をストーリーで伝えるサイトWisdom Toolkitも2次元を飛び出て立ち上がります。
会期中は、お話会も二度計画しています。盆踊り明けの寝不足の目をこすりながら、気の置けない仲間で集まって、ゆっくりお話しをお聞かせくださいますと幸いです。 草々

I hope this message finds you well.
It’s hard to believe that nearly five years have passed since my mother, Yoshiko, departed.
It is my honour to be able to hold an exhibition in Gujo Hachiman, the town where my mother was born and raised. All owes to the generous invitation from Yuri Fujisawa, an architect and artist active in community-building in the town. For both my uncle Yosuke and myself, this invitation came as a complete and moving surprise—we are filled with gratitude.
Following exhibitions in Tokyo, Nagano, and Kyoto, this homecoming exhibition will be titled:
“The Work of Yoshiko Munehiro.”
Lately, I’ve been reflecting more and more on the idea that “work” extends far beyond what remains in physical form. I hope visitors will feel that in the space where my mother’s creations are shown alongside the work of kindred craftspeople who graciously agreed to participate.
The venue is Private Stay Minori, one of Yuri’s architectural projects that gently carries the memories of daily life held within old buildings into the present.
You’ll also find glimpses into the life and work of my grandfather Rikizo, named Living National Treasure, who was raised in Gujo Hachiman and later moved to Ashigara in Kanagawa; and my uncle Yosuke, who inherited the Hatsune workshop and continued to seek out beauty throughout his life.
In addition, Wisdom Toolkit, the platform I founded to share the stories of Japanese craft and its makers, will step off the screen and take shape in the physical space.
We also plan to host two casual gatherings during the exhibition period. I would love it if you could join, and share your stories too.
