Tea Container, Nakatsugi Style, Dragon Pattern

Match tea powder container. Its delicate, subtle and shibui colouring is a product of a layering technique. The red-tinted dark brown is called “urumi”. 

Nakatsugi literally refers to the opening of the lid designed right at the middle of the container.

What a pleasurable experience to open up the lid to see the golden interior manifests slowly. The lid is finely adjusted so as not to allow excess air flow inside which would damage the quality of Matcha tea powder. Once the lid is completely opened, your eyes may meet that of the red dragon just about to look back.

Care of Use:

Avoid direct sunlight and UV rays.

Wash with lukewarm water and wipe well with a soft cloth. Carefully Remove water from the corners with a dry soft cloth so as to avoid water stains.

For oil stains, wash with a soft sponge using neutral detergent and rinse with lukewarm water.

To store for a long time without use, wrap in a cloth and store at room temperature.

Do not stack dishes of other materials, such as earthenware or porcelain, on top of urushiware in order to avoid scratches.
