Dave’s journey into Japanese whisky reveals the cultural layers beneath taste itself.
What, truly, makes Japanese whisky Japanese?
This evening offers a rare opportunity to explore the links between whisky and craft, following the path captured in his book.

Join the book talk and tasting with Dave Broom, hosted by Tomo Yoshizawa, cultural translator specialising in Japanese craft and contributor of the book’s foreword.
Guests will each receive a copy of the newly reissued book.

Inspired by a cup of Ichiro’s Malt served to Dave at a soba restaurant in Chichibu, a curated selection of handcrafted vessels will accompany the tasting—inviting a full sensory exploration of the Japanese aesthetic of shibui, through direct engagement with craftsmanship.
